Ooh a BMC Commodore 38, the marinised "B-Series" diesel, I had a Marina fitted with a 1500 B-Series diesel, 0-60 N.A.

Didn't realise the Commodore didn't have a sump plug though.....

I always drop the oil out of the sump, after a good hard run to get it nice and hot first.

Well it does have a sump plug at the bottom of the sump but its fibreglass bilge is 2 inches below the sump so the access is basically no access =) even if I did I'd have to drop it into the bilge and pumping that out into the canal.... don't think anyone would be to happy about that Crackin engine and I suppose that was why they were such a good taxI engine, no egr, no intercooler, no turbo, no pcv, no real ecu just a good old basic engine, it had a top end rebuild a couple of summers due to having low compression (number 4 gasket ruined!!!)

After 600 miles or so without a clean, I gave the 75 a quick wash today, and it's not looking too bad.

Nah Brian !

The Vacuum pumps get every drop out of any 75 engine.
Saves mucking about with washers and sump plugs.
There's no sludge these days with modern oils!!

I can get 6.8 litres of fresh back in a CDT after using my Sealy TP69 so proof all the old came out

Could never get the temp of my CDTI ZT-T above 76C, consensus uis 88 ish is best so I ordered and fitted one of these...

In line stat body, Just cut and clip into the top hose, 15 mins work lid up to lid down and now she goes up to 93 and quickly slides back to 86 then hovers 86-90.... perfect...

Lets see if the average economy is any better.... the heater already is !!

I have never understood why instead of "speed humps", councils don't do what has proven to be a better method in Germany (again) is making roads that speeding in urban areas is a problem, slalom's. Narrow the road down every 50/100 yards/metres, and alternate the priority for traffic at them. Much better than spring breakers.

Well I checked my plenum again, a bit pointless as my car has a Jules plenum guard and as per usual the plenum was clear, as it has been for 12 months. Still, better to be safe than sorry.

I park on a slope, every day I go out after rain there is always a trail where it has drained away
