This was actually yesterday,
but, the old rodding of the plenum!
And it absolutely hammered it down while I was doing it so I got soaked to the skin!!
Sadly mine hasn't got the popular spy hole mod, which I looked at having a go at doing myself again, but my wiring loom from the ECU obscures the hole and I have to hold out the way to use my weapon of choice to rod the hole out!
The scuttle panel know has all it's retaining clips thanks to Trikey!
Piece of mind knowing it's nice and clear for any impending down poor!

Default Polished my headlights

The headlights on my Rover were getting a little foggy and past their prime so I was in a dilemma of either replacing or polishing. Polishing is probably the cheaper option so I went ahead a purchased a reasonably priced polishing kit with the thought that if it doesn't work (or I mess up) I could replace the units.

Opted to remove the bumper and the headlights where it would be simpler to polish them on the bench. While the bumper was off I also replace the intercooler "O" rings purchased from DMGRS and give the front end a jolly good clean. I chose to go for the three "O" ring system, don't really know why but it seemed to be a good idea at the time. The rings fitted originally appeared to be in good condition but, while the bumper is off, why not.

Each light unit took about an hour to do, following the instructions of course, and boy, what a difference. They did, literally, look new. Glad I went for the polishing option.

So, tow bar next!!

Polished Headlights (1500 W&D, then 2000 W&D, the Solvol Metal Polish, the Originl T-Cut Polish)

Pic is one done obviously

Then tackle the "No electric Mirrors and iffy driver's window Switch". So Button unit out of drivers door, split apart to clean all contacts. Re-assembled, now I have working electric windows and correctly operating driver's window button

Today and basically the majority of the week, I have got someone else to do work on the ZT. It’s now at a Detailer for full paint correction and ceramic coating. He sent me a sneak peak, before and then “after a quick once over” of the drivers door.

Replaced a broken windscreen trim clip, then stuck some foam tape to the underside of the bonnet so as to stop the bonnet light from coming on whilst on the move.

Dropped my Tourer off for its MOT at 8am this morning. Received a call a few hours later, car had failed on airbag light (I asked him to fix that before the MOT) and a mystery hole in the floor/sill somewhere at the back, plus he said the caliper front right was binding on (red hot!). Can't say I ever noticed that before, must've just happened? I would surely have noticed something like that, no?

He said he would get back to me with a repair estimate. Despite calling between 5 & 6pm, no answer, no car returned, no phone call. How can you keep a car in overnight and not even call the owner? They did this when I used them before for an oil change. I just hope the new tool box, steam cleaner, jet wash and other items are still there when I get it back...I say this because I'm convinced a different garage 'stole' my new N95 mask recently, though there is so much gubbins in my car, it could just be buried! However, I should've learned my lesson years ago - my leather Ray Ban sunglasses disappeared out of an old M5 I had whilst at the garage...of course, no-one knew anything about it

Has anyone else suffered petty theft from their vehicle whilst at the garage, or are you all too sensible and remove valuable items beforehand?
