![]() I've been under and over that bridge, with family, several times. A fully loaded container ship would wipe out a lot of stuff, let alone a steel framed bridge support. Time will tell what caused this and there will no doubt have been lives lost here, so thank goodness it was not at a busier time, when thousands would be crossing. It was a custom for the local small boat owners to "holler" as you passed underneath.

![]() Saw it on GB news. It does look like the ship was having power outages for some reason as it approached the bridge - its lights were alternating on and off.

![]() Not sure "oops" is an appropriate thread title when authorities are still searching for six missing members of a crew working on the bridge at the time of the incident. There's also the possibility of bodies in a number of vehicles detected by sonar.

![]() I'm guessing that the power outage (speclation of "dirty" fuel in a generator engine) would make many "modern" ships unsteerable at such short notice, as is the case with cars that run on electronic sensors, as driving "aids"!
