12volt DVD repairs
As ever S*ds law has come into play and just as the 12 months warranty has expired , so has one of the channels on my Venturer twin screen DVD player. It keeps theh twins quiet on the long journeys !
I have tested both screens on the other channels and determined that it's not the screen at fault ( it also does power up on the defective channel but there is no sound or picture) . Does anyone know either somewhere or someone that could fix it ?

Dependent on the Make and Purchase Price, to be honest by the time you have sent it to repairers it will end up more expensive than the purchase price with Labour at £50 per Hour!
Give the Makers/Distributers a Ring a see if they offer a repair service, other than that its a take it apart job looking for Dry Joints or breaks in your leads etc I'm Afraid or buy a new one in this throw away age. |

Thanks, purchase price was equivalent to 3hrs labour , but it just annoys me that in the 12 mths we have used it only 5 times and the trip to Yorkshire yesterday was punctuated with the "why is hers working and not mine ?" until the whole thing magically dissappeared after Leicester Forest Services !!
But I take your point!

Unfortunately John, in the age of serial numbers et al those days of sneakly taking something back.
Trust me - I work in retail and any slightly suspicious return is thoroughly inspected and questions asked. I usually suss them out... Not that your condoning such behaviour, of course. We're all too above board and nice law-abiding folk on here |

I would expect the two outputs to come from one dedicated chunterbug via some individual channel amplification and buffering etc none of which is in any way going to be repairable these things are not designed to be repaired or even dismantled it is cheaper for the suppliers to bin it and give a replacement
Your only option is to look at the output connector if you can get at it as that is the most likely suspect. but only do that if you can't do a bit of arm twisting to get it repalced |

Thanks Guys have found the problem !!
The player has a switch for each screen that dictates whether it is displaying a DVD or has an AV input, one of the switches is a little bit " iffy" at determining which input has been chosen. Many thanks again to all.
