You're correct that was supposed to read 50mm2. I'm fitting a Hugh end sound system and although I could have gotten away with 35mm2 i thought it might be a bit more future proof with the 50mm2.

I found it, unfortunatly it's not big enough. The cable I'm trying to fit is 15mm in diameter. Looks like I will have to drill a new hole to feed the cable through. Is firewall double skinned in the area that the bonnet release cable goes through? It looks to me that the entry from the engine bay is higher than the entry into the cabin from inside? |

Might still be an idea to pop the grommet through anyway and enlarge that hole?

I decided to drill two new holes. One from engine bay into plenum and one from plenum into the cabin. Made them 20mm and lined them with a rubber o-ring bush and then thread the cable through from the engine side. slightly difficutl to get throught the sound barrier inside the cabin. Will run the rest of the cable underneath the the carpet on the lefthand side of the car.
I'll start an install thread when I'm a bit further along. |
