Dashcams!
I've just been trying to set the correct time on my dashcam since the clocks went forward & noticed my Nextbase dashcam I've had for years has no battery charge in it, I can't seem to change the time even with it powered up
Looking online it seems you have to disassemble the PCB inside, remove it & resolder a new one in. I'm not keen on attempting to do it myself as The PCB is tiny & I'm a clumsy get Has anyone else found a place that puts a new battery into these things or is it a case of getting a new one?

Hi Ian.
I've replaced the battery in my Garmin and yes, it's tight and fiddly so if you're actually a bit clumsy I'd stay well clear of the job. Sadly I reckon it's time for you to buy a new one. Happy shopping. Andy. |

I’ve got a few Nextbase dashcams - 112, 212 and 3x 312s. I’ve replaced the batteries in all of them.
If you’ve got one with GPS, as long as you set the correct time zone, i.e. GMT+1 - it will pick up the correct time when it locks on to a satellite. The 112 is not very good. I also bought a new-ish model, but I wasn’t impressed with it, so it got ebayed. The 312 is my favourite and two of the ones I have were bought second hand on eBay. I’ve got a 312 on the front of my daily and a 212 on the back, both of which are permanently powered when the ignition is on. Since replacing the batteries in them, I have taken to occasionally switching them on manually after turning off the ignition, so they will run the batteries down and hopefully will last longer this time. |
