Default Defrosting on cold mornings.

Now that winter is here & the old Rooover is frosted over in the morning it is much more preferable to start the engine & go back inside while she warms up & defrosts. Obviously there is the danger of some low life making off with the car if it's not watched carefully.

Just out of interest can I lock the car from the outside with the the spare key / fob with the engine running?

Don't fancy putting this into practice without some advice first. Just in case.

Cheers

You can do if you have the dealer option "Bathrobe Locking" enabled on a T4

Bathrobe locking, must be enabled, otherwise the BCU will inhibit locking of the doors, as it sees the key inside the car.

Wonderful thanks buddy!

Any other cool little add ons via T4?

I know having a VCDS cable theres loads of things you can enable on VAG cars that are turned off from factory.

Don't want to seem to pushy .....but can I have it as well please

Early morning starts is terrible when the car is frozen....

Bathrobe sounds good

Just so others are aware, if a low life decided to enter the car...ie do a window, then drive off whilst you left it running. Your Insurance could be void and null as you failed to take the necessary precautions to prevent the theft.

I'll give it a try in the morning if the worst that can happen is it just won't work.

Steering wheel lock might be easier.
Only to deter the opportunist really, can't imagine many 75's get nicked to order...
