With the green one? It's Club spec, but, do I start up speccing it, ie, leather, chrome mirror covers, stuff like that

Or preserve the originality

Personally I like its honesty, but will it benefit from the upgrades

Leave it as it is. I have a club SE and a V6 auto connie. Whenever my wife & I go out she always wants to go in the "comfortable one" that is the club.

I would keep it standard...that's what I'm doing with my Odessey,
I am adding a usb socket and torch into centre cubby...and may go double din for Sat nav but that's it.

Its so tempting to upgrade things, ive resisted so for with the 1.8 (except for a decent head unit and dash cam)

You're pretty much confirming my thoughts

spent a few hours yesterday underneath waxoyling the rear suspension, but the car is so original, I may even sell blingy

Personally I would leave it as original as possible only changing items if you consider it to be absolutely essential. Enjoy it as it is!

Only thing i've modded on mine is to put a set of leathers in but that was more due to the originals looking a bit tired however I did manage to get a set from another Cowley so they are the right age at least...

Other than that my preference is to keep the rest as original as possible

And I would keep BLINGY if you can afford to do so.
