Diesel undertray.
Is there a difference between early and late diesel undertray. Found one at reasonable price, but states early diesel. If there is, can it be modified to fit mk2.

Shouldn't be a problem IIRC- the difference is in how thick (rigid) the tray is and maybe the heat reflector and foam on the top.

Hi the shape of the under trays have never changed. The thickness of the offending bit of plastic has changed also the ribbing in the injection moulding has changed. There were some that came with a sound deadening pad attached. There is a company in Poland I seem to remember are selling reproduction ones for under 35 pounds delivered, these are of reasonable quality and have the extra strengthening ribs moulder into them. The only disadvantage these ones have, is they are not predrilled with all the mounting holes. I have to confess I can’t remember the last time I saw a under tray secured with its original half twist mounting screws. It seems quite common for owners to hold the trays with self tapping roofing screws with a spreader washer under the head. Don’t know if this is of ant help to you.
