Default Bullet Mirror

I was distracted when getting car from garage and caught passenger side mirror against garage door frame.
It has partly separated cover from holder and knocked a tiny piece from edge of holder.
There is now some tension on cover which is preventing refitting properly.
Would it be better to remove cover completely before re-assembly.
Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Terry,

I seem to remember (when retrofitting bullets to my Project Drive-afflicted car) that the bullet covers cannot be removed from the mirror body without first removing the mirror glass. A pair of long-nosed pliers is needed to squeeze the tabs of the clips together (once you're behind the mirror glass) to remove the cover from the mirror body.

I'd expect that one of the clips on the cover has broken following the impact, so you may need a new (or new 2nd hand) cover.

Cheers,
Karl.

I will certainly use this "How to" if necessary.
My thanks also to the inventor of the fix.

Bullets look streamlined and are much worse at their job of seeing behind the car than Skullcap mirrors

Style over substance, one of the better PPD deletions

Default Bullet mirrors

Many thanks for the answer to my question. I have a Rover 75 tourer, first registered April 2002 so I probably have bullet
mirrors. If skullcap mirrors are better than bullet mirrors would it be possible
to change my bullet mirrors to skullcap mirrors? . Once again thank's in anticipation. billjo

A straight swap - don't even need to remove door cards .
