Drove from St Malo to La Rochelle and the NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- never missed a beat especially as it has been parked up for 3 months but I guess the trip to the ferry was an indication all was well with the green goblin. So happy with this car. But tomorrow is another day?

Default What I did with my Rover 75/MG ZT today?

- wedged bits of rubber between bumper and wheel arch trim
- removed and wedged a bit of cloth between the trim behind the rear seat and the chassis fixing point.

It may be due to what you mentioned on Friday morning ...the missing pin through the backplate?
Ran out of time to check this today as I thought I’d try the easy things first.😬
I’ll check that next week.
FIL thinks it’s the exhaust, but I gave that a check and could only get movement “noise” with a fair amount of effort.
It’s only noticeable at low speed and rough road surface, but not when driving over bumps.
Don’t worry, I’ll get to the bottom of it.😄
That’s the problem with bionic ears.😳

Fixed the “knock” from the rear end, 😊😊😊but still not 100% sure of the cause, as I done a couple of things.🙄
- replaced NSR damper (old one looked fine).
- poked a strip of car tire tubing into a small gap between exhaust Hanger & rubber mount.
Don’t really care which was the problem..knock is gone.😬

Fitted the modified rear tourer lights that i purchased, i repaired/modified the bracket on each light, also changed the fixings inside of the light to some baulk head fixings i got from Mickyboy

The light i took off will get the same modification and stored away for spares, a few photo's below Arctic.

Angle brackets bought from Aldi

1

2

Lights purchased with broken brackets.
3

4

Angle bracket marked for cutting
5

6

Cuts made in the angle bracket so that the bracket seats properly in the light.
7

Bracket pushed bent into shape
8

9

shaped and rounded off fixed to the lights.
10

Fixing i got from mickyboy now you know why i needed them and was planning forward cheers.
11

They replace the original fixing which fail and turn in the car body.
12

13

Stainless steel screws will now hold the light in place.
14

light aperture ready for the light to be fixed new black fixings and ball cups.
15

Metal brakes instead of the plastic ones, which always break if you have to change a failed bulb.
16

Now i know that if i get a failed bulb i can change it with out worry of the bracket breaking and the light being loose.
17

Will do a proper write up when i have time cheers Arctic.

Sunday.

Usually I love lying on my couch and watch Youtube videos on my TV.

So a recommended video about my bought Ambient light Car set was running. And I said to myself:"Hey, when will you install this very set?"

And as I watching, a passionate dude was explaining the set and it affected me!

So I was pumped and installed it! Took my Rover on a quiet place. It wasn't cold. Dry mostly. So I took my time and hell! It works. It was just a hassle with one strip underneath my seat (the area where the airbag cable is ).

But it worked. I busted bought it for the red light! And it looks good so far. Sure, it was in daylight! But I am sure on night it will be a dream! 16 Euros! What a steal.

You can watch the videos on youtube. This is the source where I get my motivation to do it! Without that knowledge I would never ever do that!

Now my radio works (!!!), my new smartphone mount synced with the radio works and this light set! I am a happy camper.

Just the rear sunblind just won't work Since my radio started to work, the sunblind stopped. Guess this will be a project for the next month Hope it is easy to repair, gentlemen!

Drove it to the beach, took the dog for a two mile run, and came back to a nice warm car

Webasto, hmm I wonder why these were deleted

On my return home, I programmed a EWS with the details of another persons car, then programmed their repaired ECM with the correct VIN, ZCS coding and more importantly an automatic tune rather than the manual one

Needless to say, it will have working cruise control once this is refitted to the car, and dare I say it will drive somewhat better too, given the ECM will now exchange a message or two with the automatic gearbox ECU

Helped out a poor petrol station owner today. Filled the Bear with £60 worth of go go juice.

I hope you don't live too far away from the filling station Bob, or it'll be empty by now

Swapped the horn switches on the steering wheel as one side wasn't working and adjusted the headlamp aim. Also ordered a new o ring for the radiator elbow due to a slight weep.
