Default CD Changer

Hi all am new here i have just got myself a rover75 v reg 2.5ltr the problem is the cd changer only plays 1track then stops playing.Before you ask yes i am playing copied cds.I was just wondering if any1 knew why this is happenening.

Is it a multi changer or single? If multi does it play the first track of every cd ?

sounds like the laser is dirty copied cd`s wouldnt make any diffrence

its a multi changer it only play 1st track of every cd would a cd cleaner cure this problem

It will be the laser mechanism it's self either dirt has got onto the rails that it slides on or the motor that moves the laser in and out has gone

so does that mean i need a cd changer or just re place the changer bit that sits in the glove box?

Well i would have thought there would be very little chance of getting spares to repair your so you could try cleaning it with some cotton buds and a tiny amount of vodka or just replace it all together.What cd changer and head unit have you got ?

its 1 that came with the car not sure what make it is

No not to sure myself what they come with as standard.Mine was kenwood but yours may be diffrent.The only the i can say to keep the cost down is to look on ebay to see if there is a second hand one for sale but i would give cleaning it a go first
