Default Rover 75 cambelt replacement

Help, please! I want to replace the cambelt on my Rover 75 2001 model X-reg. I live in the Rickmansworth area northwest of London, post code WD3 5LW, so I am hoping to find a recognised Rover service garage in the Herts, Bucks, Middlesex area.
I HAVE searched via Google but with no concrete success. Can someone nearby or who happens to know please recommend an official/acknowledged Rover 75 service centre? I understand a special Rover tool is required in order to re-set the cambelt correctly.
Just had my key fobs repaired/replaced by Chris in Fareham, and a few other odd jobs. Very helpful man, knowledgeable and encouraging. Thanks, Chris!

Try member Shiner. He is near Reading and highly spoken of on the forum for his work.

Hello David,

I looked at your profile to try to find out which engine you have. You say that it is 2.0 litre so it’s a V6; am I right? If so, you might be surprised to know that it actually has three cambelts!

You are correct, but these tools are available from Laser or AST to anyone who cares to buy them. So there is nothing stopping any garage from changing your cambelts. Ex-MG Rover dealers will probably still have the original version of the tools. Or, as mss says, you could ask Shiner or indeed Chris in Fareham.

One last thing David; how is your 2001 car a Contemporary? I thought that trim level wasn’t introduced until much later.

Cool

Try MJSAUTOANDMARINE.CO.UK. They are fully mobile. Workshop, with two lifts, in Littlehampton Sussex. Distance not a problem as they used to come to me when I lived in Essex.

THANKS SHITOO FOR YOUR REPLY. I don't know what you mean about 'contemporary' and 'trim level.' As far as I know, my 75 is the very basic model.

In your profile under ‘model’ you have entered ‘Contemporary’. That was the highest equipment and trim spec. only introduced with the facelift. If yours is the most basic model from 2001 then you need to delete ‘Contemporary’ and replace it with ‘Classic’.

Another option for you is MGRs in High Wycombe just off the M40 junction 4. See http://www.mgrs.co.uk/about/ . Superb guys treat my cars as if they're their own and prices are very reasonable. Courtesy car usually available too
