Don’t forget the 1.8, and definitely don’t invest in a V8 they are the worst money pits out of all the range!

For now, the UK's target date for bringing an end to the sale of new cars with an internal combustion engine is 2040, some fifteen years later than the likes of Holland or Norway and IIRC ten years later than France. In practice, most manufacturers will have switched from ICE only to either pure electric or hybrid long before then and it's realistic to expect a radical change in the market for new cars over the next 5-7 years. Any of our cars which have survived even to that point will be rare enough by then that the type of fossil fuel they burn will be of less relevance - by say 2025, increased fossil fuel duty, VED and urban emissions charges will gradually restrict their use as daily cars regardless. I suppose there's always the "convert it to electric" option, a mere snip at fifteen grand today ...

Ordinary everyday cars are a rubbish investment. Buy one on the basis of what you wish to drive. |

I think all of us have owned cars in our younger days that were considered clunkers or just 'old' and undesirable. And I bet we've all played the 'how much is it worth now?" game. This price rise is due to many of these wrecks being scrapped by us, creating a rarity in these cars, and now, people wishing to relive their youth fighting over the few that are left.
So, in order for me to be able to to make an obscene profit from my 75, can I ask you all to scrap your cars now, move onto Protons or Hyundais or whatever, and then in a few years realize what a mistake you made and try to buy another one. See you on eBay in 20 years. Thanking you all in advance

Imagine a street where every house has 2 electric cars , which need recharging every day or so . Then imagine the size of the electricity supply cables delivering all that "green" power …………..

I wouldn't buy either as an investment. buy one if you want something as hobby or just enjoy it. You won't make much of a return on profit on it.
