Default Parking Distance Speaker Only - XQM101370 -

My parking sensors have gone silent - i see Rimmers are selling Parking Distance sounders - XQM101370 - if i need a new parking sounder will this part be compatible with an 04 Tourer where the sounder is in the IPK as opposed to sounders on older tourers which were in the rear of the car.

No, these are for the early black PDC, the later ones are piped via the K-Bus into the IPK, utilising the lights on warning chime buzzer

Switch on your lights without the ignition on and open the front door and see if the "warning bong" works

Thanks Brian - good news is that the lights on chime is working so that would discount a faulty sounder in the IPK - will have a look at the looms and the parking ECU.

Out of interest if the IPK sounder fails -whats the fix - a new instrument cluster?
