So the question is when did Rover make it so? 2004 was when the legal requirement kicked in, so I guess they may have implemented it earlier.

Seems to be earlier on the diesels, not sure why. Possibly the BMW engine All I know is that mine is compliant and the app returns a fair amounts of parameters (some of which are a bit of a mystery to me). I tend to use it as an accurate temperature gauge

IIRC, if your car has the sensor and housing in the intercooler pipe it will be fully OBD compliant. If you dont have the sensor and housing then its part-compliant (wont read fault codes).

To you and me, it's the big pipe in the front middle of the engine, coming off and to the right of the silver thing that's half covered by the black plastic cover thingamibob.

Ahh I see, thingamabob is much more my language. So does checking if I have the sensor involve taking something apart?

If so I think ill pass as im prone yo break things ha.

If youse want a proper laugh ill have my wife film me trying to fix my door mechanisms at the weekend.

Default Brilliant App

I just bought a 2001 2.0V6 Tourer for £375 (MOT and Tax) because the engine management light was on. £7.99 for the Bluetooth adaptor and £1.81 for the App. Fault codes cleared in 30 seconds!! Not come back on either. Very happy indeed

For the record on my 75 V6 2.5 year 2000 manual saloon the obd works OK including fault codes with one VIS fault showing, I have no idea if all the data is showing however.... rpm, coolant temp and various other stuff does so I'm happy.

Using a clone wifi ELM 327 and various IOS apps.
