Default Steering boots, failure after 6 weeks or so

Hi,
I am after some advice please, I needed the tracking doing but they were all seized up so I had to buy replacements, I bought Lemforder track rod ends, some supposedly OEM inners and the boots were Borg Beck- I am told this is also part of Lemforder supposedly, the boots came with metal clips but the garage did not have the tool so they put on cable ties.

Now, one has torn the little end right off and the boot rubs against the suspension making a knocking noise, I have had advice from a friend and would like for more input only I do not wish to scrap the lemforder track rods ends as they have only been on some 6 weeks and were not cheap.

Does anyone have any idea why these boots split in such a short time please?

Bought from Partsinmotion product code 5373520RMP Borg & Beck Steering Rack Boot BSG3197

Probably because the garage made a mess of fitting!

A loose boot won't cause a knock, id suggest having a look at the inners to see if they have been fitted correctly, this is one area you must ensure is as it should be.

Today on the way home there appears to be more clucks and knocking coming from the front, the steering feels like it is drifting somehow, I shall have it checked quickly I think.

Yes, definitely.

I would suspect its one of the newly fitted parts.

Drive it VERY carefully as from what you say you might have the front wheels turning in different directions.
