Well I must have a problem then as when all the stat and pipe and elbow fitted I can get movement on the horizontal pipe from the stat to block a few mm each way as it slides in and out also the stat can flex and mine mm going into the block. Had them off and on again also tried tho old ones and these are the same slight movement

If you've slid the clips on the straight pipe as far outwards as they can go so that they are touching the water pump and thermostat housings I don't understand how you can have movement.

Will pulling the housing away from the straight pipe cause it to 'rock' slightly?

my my. Suddenly you got the urge to see if your thermostat rocks?????????

Are you trying to hide something from us?
Why not tell us what the problem is?

Otherwise we might just think it is all in the head.

Well, it is Friday!

I also noticed movement that worried me after replacing mine last week. Unless the single bolt is tightened so much as to prevent rotation of the housing around it - and that would have to be stupid tight, there is bound to be some play simply because all the relevant joints are only greasy o rings in loosely fitting tubes. At least that is what I deduced. Anyway mine is not leaking yet!
