Can't understand why you'd want something made out of 409 which has inferior corrosion resistance to 304.

A full powerflow system in 304 set me back £300, so £185 for a 409 backbox doesn't seem so great to me? Of course, this box does have the advantage of being the original design/shape I suppose.

Doesn't sound like there is much in it for the guinea pig, except a big bill.

Any takers ?????

Thanks Jezzer 1 for your efforts to source an original type rear box.
I fitted a new original exhaust to my ZTT last year and expect it will last another 14 years.
I was wondering if it might be more cost effective for you to import the standard Roewe box so the purchaser cut/adapt the rear pipes to their liking.
Once again thank you.

Regards
Peter

I'm confused what the Guinea Pig is going to be used for. I've got a couple of Siberian Hamsters if that's any help

I would like to take on the challenge of being the guinea pig Jeremy.

If you could PM me with some details, including the internal diameter of the swaged end of the pipe so I can assess the suitability of integrating it into the existing system fitted (facelift diesel original).

Not everyone wants to fit a cheap mild steel, or indeed a stainless steel system, and if these are in any way as good as the original, they will outlast any involvement I would envisage having in my R40.

They are only good for one thing and that is on a barbeque.
