I haven't read the whole thread but one of the the ZR 1.8's has a sensor. Maybe the header would fit or could be adapted???
Example:- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MG-ZR-1-8-....c100005.m1851 Please ignor if already discussed. Mike

Watching the space closely
From my point of view, I would just need the sensor and the pins for the plugs. Wire, tiewraps etc. can be sourced quite easily.

Well I ended up making a number of complete systems with new tanks and they were all snapped up pretty sharpish, however I have no plans to make any more for the foreseeable future.
Hopefully by now any of the owners who have them fitted will have noticed if the coolant level has been dropping and will be glad that this early warning sensor has helped avoid any damage to their engines? My installation is still operating flawlessly after nearly a year of motoring 14,000 miles or so. Fortunately I have had no leaks to try it out, but at least I know its there the moment the coolant level drops by more than 120cc. For those interested in making their own coolant level sensor the PDF is attached to download. Last edited by Lovel; 19th April 2018 at 15:00.. |

Have had a few individuals enquiring about building some more of these recently. Initially Upon checking with suppliers the Honeywell level sensor that was so perfect for this install has been made obsolete by them due to economics, hence it looks like “Sensor no mooaah”.
