Went off chamois years ago.
These days I have a huge waffle weave drying towel kept specially for the job, it blots up water faster than anything I have used before. Unlike a chamois the water is blotted off, no need to wipe as that is what gives the swirl marks.
Not saying my car doesn't have swirl marks mind..most do tbh

I have been a loyal supporter of the Chemical Guys Gray Matter Towel. Super water absorbing and really cleans car well. I use one after I wash my car in order to dry it. BTW the spam links I inserted into my forums posts have been removed and I am now banned.

I'm in the drying towel camp.

Have a look on here: http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/index.php

There's several of us on both forums (yes, my username is the same) and similar to this one there is a tremendous amount of information freely available.

I use Britemax towel (https://www.shopnshine.co.uk/britema...g-towel?page=2)

and a "Drinker" (https://www.in2detailing.co.uk/produ...cm-x-90cm.html)

The Britemax is a bit smaller so is easier to handle while the Drinker does a great job on larger areas such as the roof or bonnet.

Good luck with your purchase(s).

Andy.

Possibly teaching granny to suck eggs but may I suggest a couple of hugely respected outlets:

http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/ - even further north than you and

https://www.shopnshine.co.uk/ - a long way south of you but pretty close to me

I'm very happy to personally recommend them both for superb service and good prices. And, as commented on in many threads on here, quality suppliers of quality products are worth their weight in gold.

Happy shopping

Andy.
