No I never forget to put it on. Having been a driving instructor for many years it's second nature. I noticed the silence when I just moved my car across a big car park, and didn't bother putting on the belt. I just thought it strange that on a car such as this it didn't have a reminder.

Was not connecting them together part of the money saving project drive lol

Requires two things for the warning light to work:
  • Wiring present in the car (not always)
  • Two connectors on the seat belt pre tensioners (2nd connector wasn't standard on UK models). Available from Rimmers for 55 quid or eBay for a lot less.
I considered getting the correct pre tensioner for the warning light to work then thought what's the point

My Mazda 6 has audible seat warnings for both front seats and it is a hateful feature that I would love to disable. Cannot see why anyone would want to retrofit!

I bought some heated electric alcantara seats from a R75 on ebay. (Never saw a R75 with the sports seats!) I fitted them and spent 2 days trying to get rid of the air bag light until I realised the light was the seatbelt warning light!
The donor car must have been an export model but never made it!

I am with you on this, I have to move cars all the time and it gets so annoying something beeping at you and getting louder in some cases if you don't buckle up just to move a car a 100yds in a yard or car park.

I have been driving for 39 years and compulsory seat belts were introduces about 3 or 4 years after I started driving but if find it the next thing I do after I start a car without being reminded to do it.

I can remember cars with one wiper (or no wiper), no heater, pull up windows, a choke and real glass windows! I hate electrics and electronics (despite my technology degree) and would love to drive a "simple" car again. One with grease nipples (hope the naughty filter can cope with that word)!
