Shocking price

TBH £290 is what most of our cars are only worth now-a-days.

Makes me laugh/cry when parts for our cars are double, even triple the price of all other makes.

More like a dastardly plan to rid the country of older, but well maintained modern classics.I'm sure we're not the only ones feeling the bite. That means my diesel auto will be 270 a year, and about 160 oer 6 months. Tell you what Mr Osborne ,why not just ban old cars completely and force us to buy nasty plastic euroboxes that have no redeemable features, but do a thousand miles per gallon and emit 0 emissions, cos thats what you want really.
Get everyone to have more debt, then you can stop our benefits when we lose our jobs. Apologies for hijack and rant, but there you go.

I'm sure Mr Osborne wants us to buy new cars, it creates tax revenue and will likely haul drivers into the finance net. Good for the system that is.
