Default Wiper & Alarm fault

Hi,

read a few threads similar to my fault but nothing seems to cure.

Basically, in the middle of the night my ZT's alarm goes off, when I come out to it the wipers were going ten to the dozen. When I deactivate the alarm via the fob the alarm goes off but the wipers stay on. Also the car doesn't re-alarm, it gives the warning beep to say door/bonnet/boot is open but they aren't.

When I start the car the wipers go off, and work normally via the stalk.

I've tried disconnecting the battery for a few hours, fuses and relays, no fix.

Also, plenums are clear, no water leaks etc so defo not interfering with ECU.

Wondered if any of you had had this probelm and if so how did you fix, or any ideas what might be causing it?

Thanks in advance

Dean

Ive had this before Dean and metioned it on the forum.
I disconnected the bcu behind the fusebox and cleaned the connections. the glovebox has to come out for access.i then wrapped the bcu in bubble wrap to prevent any damp.Worked on mine, good luck!

Hi Dean. Had the same problem with mine. My problems were caused by a thimbleful of water in the sat/nav cradle. The water was trickling down the brackets that hold the cradle. The nuts that secured the brackets are located under the fuel flap and they were loose. Tightened up with a little silicone ,leak and problem cured. If you do have sat/nav, may be worth a look.
Regards Mark
