And a glued key that snapped off, when I stalled during a hill start between two lanes of heavy traffic :-0

Got a couple of flip keys sorted straight away!

When I got my MKII many years ago, the overdrive would not engage.
The reason was simple, it turned out, someone had welded the planetary gear solid.

My Austin A35 had very rusty sills. Welding = very expensive, Filler = quite expensive, using the bag of cement my father had at the back of his garage = free :¬)

Bathroom sealant holding my headlight bulbs in, only discovered when they all started pointing in different directions!

This Resistor was badly retained on a members car, it had failed and a 100w version was fitted correctly in it's place.

i have had a couple in some of the worse are a kv6 that some one had damaged the treads on both driveshafts and welded them to the hubs and wondered why abs light was on and why both front wheel bearings where shot lol. had 2 or 3 in with molegrips on brake hoses as calipar is leaking and you could see from the molegrips they had been on there a fair while. i have had them in with garden hose pipe slide over fuel pipe to try and stop a leak, even had one in with threaded bolt screwed in to the fuel tank again to try and stop a leak. you would not believe some of the things i have seen.
