1.8 Club SE Saloon in Royal Blue Metallic, Just had her 10th birthday, registered 26.06.2001:

Aquired in November 2006 - 4 years 8 months

No money changed hands - swapped for an X reg Accord Coupe with iffy auto box.

Mileage when "bought" 38000

Mileage now 84000

Head gasket done at 40000 under warranty, rear discs replaced at 46000.

I haven't dug out my receipt file but, apart from routine servicing and bits that wear out normally like brakes and tyres; the "unexpected" bills have been inlet manifold gasket, brake pipes and rear springs. I guess about £800 in total. Upgrades have probably accounted for as much again; but I got £300 of that back selling the bits I replaced on the 'bay.

All in all I don't reckon that's bad for 5 years motoring and a lot of enjoyment.

Owned since Feb 2003 Over 8 years at time of posting this.

Cost £8,500 including trading in a Carlton.

I am second owner and have full service history Until I started doing my own servicing after retirement 3 years ago,

Since then spent about £2,000 on Cam Belts, Inlet Manifold, Metal Thermostat, Rad fan, replaced cloth seats for full leather and install Chinese DD unit. plus a few sundries items.

I now need to fit walnut steering wheel, new exhaust system and would like to get her undersealed. Hopefully I will get another 5 years out of her, by then I will no longer be a driver. Just an old phart puddling along on an electrickey wheelchair.

I still think she is cheap motoring for a class car
