Default My New Baby

As you may know I work in the trade and I cant resist a bargain.

Coming in next week is a 2000 V 75 2.5 V6 Conn SE Manual in Copperleaf Red /Sandstone with a few bits on it.

It looks to be quite well cared for asides having been a CAT C at one time.

Being a Cowley car, a manual and a V6 its a nice addition and quite different to my CDT, also the colour combination is one I love (only wedgewood sits higher)

Up until 2008 it had done 18000 miles, and then has had a succession of owners who have racked it up to 93500.

The plan is to enjoy it and tidy it up, I cant spend a fortune on it like I did with the diesel and the belts will have to stay as they are.

Is the car known to the club, there is no service history and only one key, which makes me thing that was lost when the car was written off and repaired.

Price to me with a few months MOT and delivered is £100

MOT history suggests it was written off in 2011, since it wasn't MOT'ed again until 2015. Both passes BTW.

she's arrived!

A lot better than I expected, paint on the roof is rubbish and will need painting, bonnet is not as bad but very flat, I will try machine polishing it first.

Interiors dirty but complete and very tidy

Mechanically its fine, if a little lethargic (VIS motors probably), clutch is a tad heavy and nearing the top of its travel but it will have to do.

No history but the service indicator says its not due one for 13300 miles, and the oil is clean as is the air filter, there is also evidence on the slam panel of having been serviced in 2013/14 as there is reminder stickers attached.

After a wash the plenums were full (the workshop floor is rather wet) and the pollen filter was rather damp.

Now suitably plunged hovered out and new filter fitted!,

Also I note a pair of newish headlamps with bright reflectors and upgraded xenon style bulbs plus a new towbar

Happy chap for £100!!

Very nice. Copper leaf and sandstone is one of the best combinations.
