Question Driverless cars.

When they become the norm, will there be any need for Driving Tests, and will there be an age limit.

I think technology can go too far.. and I also think they are trying to rush things into production and use at the moment..

It took less than two hours for Las Vegas’s brand new self-driving shuttle to end up in a crash on Wednesday – thanks to a human. Article

Those humans again..

When you leave for work in the morning after rain and a sharp frost overnight a driver always looks out for patches of black ice and drives with care. Would a driverless car be aware of this. I think it's an "Accident" waiting to happen.

It’s the future! Can’t say I find it enthralling to to think the human driver will be superfluous in years to come. Electric driverless cars. Sounds real exciting.

I think the future is horizontal escalators on pavements for short journeys, taking the dog for a walk will be pointless, and beam me to Bournemouth Scottie, for long trips.

I suppose it depends on how popular it is. Are many people really bothered about driving? Will actually driving a car be seen as the same as using a mangle instead of a washing machine?
I suspect driverless cars will be pretty popular.

I think you quite right. I had cause to be working in the centre of Edinburgh for two days last week. I took the train and actually enjoyed the benefit of being driven to within a 10 min walk of where I needed to be. I had a 45 min wait at the other end of the day so filled it with a pint.

I hope there’ll be a place for both driverless cars for the boring commute etc and drivers cars for when you want to escape!
