CDTi diesel - range on a full tank ?
Out of interest, last time I filled up my 75 CDTi, I zeroed the trip to see how far it would go on a full tank (I never really bothered to check this before). The trip is now showing 570 miles, and the fuel gauge still shows quarter of a tank, so it looks as though I should be good for 700 miles or so before the warning light on the fuel gauge comes on.
What is the longest range other CDT/CDTi owners have got out of a tank of diesel ? Pete |

About 670 but that was before my 160 remap. Since then, the most I get is about 520 on a good day. I’ll get more if doing mostly motorway miles. Then it would be closer to 600.

I often find that the range displayed in the message centre is very vague to say the least it depends upon so many different variables driving style current speed, Engine temperature, that I actually don’t tend to take a great deal of notice, unless you’re driving along the motorway at a steady speed of say 60 mph it’s not going to be that accurate in my opinion

CDTi diesel - range on a full tank ?
600 on the display from brim to running out! 160 remap on a manual.
(I wasn’t driving sensibly all the time though)

Best I've had in the manual was about 730 IIRC, but that was with some pretty slow & steady driving on the Wild Atlantic Way and over to Belfast one weekend. Usually going very well if I get above 640 in summertime, and it seems to do a bit worse in winter - can drop to 575 or so, especially if there aren't many longer trips. NB I calculate it by checking the mileage brim-to brim, not relying on the IPK display.

I got just over 600 miles from one tank of fuel on a run from Portsmouth to Aberdeen in my manual. The range showed zero for the last few miles but it didn't run out and I got to a fuel station.

I have found when it does show zero, it is rather accurate as the fuel runs out very quickly. I found this out once the hard way...
