Look at it this way, he'd definitely need a new alternator if he did!

will house chargers put out 13-14 volts like alternator and will alternator/house charger only put out what battery will take also why would lights flash for flat battery if it has 10volts or does it assume its flat because not enough power to crank engine

Hi Humpty,
Why not just get a new battery and see what happens. One day , without warning, my cdt wouldn't even open. Cost £65 for a new battery, no problem since. Without the help and advice off the guys from here, I would have panicked. If a new battery doesn't work, further investigation will be needed. Good luck ! Regards Mark |

i am having problems with my car leave it stood for 4/5 days and battery flat.i have two batteries one i keep fully charged and i will tell you your battery will not be fully charged unless you leave it on trickle charge for at least 36 hours,if your indicator is showing black it is fully DISCHARGED it needs to be glowing green to be fully charged.

do not know mate, just tap the indicator gently with your screwdriver handle to see if it changes colour.trikey has been helping me with mine and he checked battery and i think it was 12?volts but not enough to start car,i had no flickering lights but turned key and just got click click.
