"Vehicles with high intensity discharge (HID) or LED dipped beam headlamps may be fitted with a suspension or headlamp self-levelling system. If these systems have been fitted, they must work. Sometimes it is not easy to determine if the self-levelling systems work. In such cases you should give the benefit of the doubt." "4.1.6. Headlamp cleaning devices You must inspect vehicles first used on or after 1 September 2009 equipped with headlamp washers." Cars fitted with Xenons from the factory had a self-levelling system and this must work for an MoT pass. If you retrofit Xenons and don't fit the self-levelling sensors etc., presumably this'll still pass because the manual states IF fitted, it must work. That's my interpretation anyway. Do Xenons work without the sensors etc.? That bit I'm not sure about as I've not done the retrofit myself.

They work fine without and the normal thumb wheel level adjust works the same as with the non Xenon units. Russ

Thanks for confirming chaps. And might I add, that's a very smart looking car you have there Ron. I hope this all helps the OP make their decision.
