Hi Yann.
It sounds like you are peeling the wheel arch liner back enough, sometimes it's better if you jack the car up and remove the front wheel, even then you need to look up at an angle to see the tube as in the photo below, hope this helps, don't worry pull with vigour

Some more news.

today, on the 28th day of owning this car, the battery light came on and the car died as we got to the garage. prognosis is replacement battery and alternator. cost around £500.

This is the final straw for me. The dealer has been notified that we expect him to pay for the full repairs or we want a full refund.

I expect a battle on my hands.

No way should it cost £500 to fix this it shouldn't need a new battery either! Sounds like the garage are charging top whack with a quote like that.
A good used unit (there's one in Wakefield £30) and about 3-4 hours labour max

It gets better

garage carried out checks on the vehicle and there are other serious issues such as corroded pipes and severely worn brakes. These were advisories on the second to last MOT but yet vanished on the dealer's MOT. sufficient evidence there that the MOT is fraudulent, especially when taken with the SRS airbag issue.

The garage have told the car is dangerous to drive as it is. Their advice was to get a full refund. they are happy for us to leave the car there and will not charge me and will give me a report I can use.

We're going to have to take him to court I imagine. I'm gutted as I loved the car and this is just additional stress I don't need.

Please do let us know how you get on, are you going to give them a chance to refund you first? I would go see them with the report in your hand, at the same time ask for your full refund or you are going down the trading standards road, as well as court.

I am sure they would rather take the car back from you than go through the above good luck.

Hello all, update for everyone.

car still at the garage. dealer refuses to deal with us and has referred us to legalsolutions4u. These guys are not CRA regulated and their purpose appear to be to bully people into dropping claims whilst pretending to be lawyers. In short, looks like this won't be a quick process. car will need to be towed back to ours in the meantime and we will get another report done so we have a watertight case. Funniest of all, he seems to be trying to blame Russ for all the damage... that seems to be his defence angle. Couldn't make it up.

here's what the garage report says:

charging rate incorrect
o/s/r number plate light
n/s/f indicator full of water
front pads @ 70%
o/s/f/ fog lamp unit damaged
accident damage n/s/f
n/s/r wheel unserviceable
o/s/r brake pipe (dangerous)
coolant leak (radiator)
Coolant Level Low
In our opinion this vehicle should not have been sold and is not road worthy, we have recommended the customer seek legal advise, also the customer should inform the DVSA the MOT validity.

unfortunately we are just over the 3 months to get DVSA down to check the car.
