Default a few prolems to sort

Anyone know off common faults for the following problems before i start pulling everything apart.

the car is a launch spec Rover 75 2.5L 1999 which i believe belonged to 1 or more club members in the past.

1. sun roof not working.
2. cruise control not working (main control switch lights up).
3. headlight washers not working.
4. Are newer Hi Line Sat Nav disks availible.

Any clues please.

Welcome to the Club.
Some of your Queries will have been answered before,
but I'm sure some helpful answers will be coming your way.

4. Yes newer Discs are available, they come out 6 monthly.
You can purchase them on line From Navteq, BMW Outlets and EBay for secondhand ones, also in our own For Sale Section at times..

Headlight washers will probably be either pump failed or waterjets gunged up.

Cruise control auto or manual?

Paul,

The sunroof and headlamp washers share a connection to the BCU (pin 18, white/red/yellow) which carries a K-bus signal. It might be worth checking that.

For the cruise I'd start by checking the brake pedal switch. It receives a supply from fuse 13 (passenger compartment fusebox) on pin 1 (light green/purple) and it's output to the cruise "relay" appears to be on pin 3 (green/red wire). If your car has a manual gearbox they'll be a clutch switch as well.

Simon.

3. headlight washers not working.

Headlight washers will only work on the first occasion that the windscreen washers are used when the headlights are on.

Thereafter, whilst the headlights remain on, the headlight washers will work every 5th windscreen washer use.

Apologies if you were aware of that.

Body Control Unit, it is behind the glove box which needs removing for access. Also another fuse board in the same location.
