Default CDTI Uneven tickover after Synergy 2 fitting

Hello all. I've just fitted the magical tuning box and I am loving the extra power though have noticed that the tickover is now ever so slightly uneven. Has anyone else encountered this and is there a fix or have I maybe disturbed something???

and, have you routed your cable well enough away from the injectors?

Yes, cable is definitely connected the right way round and cables routed at the back of the engine bay not under the engine cover by the injectors.

Also noticing a fair bit of smoke. Have turned down from level 9 to 7 but no real difference. Is this normal or should I be worried!

ISTR from the instructions that you need to start at the bottom on the scale, and gradually build up until you find the ideal settings for you car and driving style.

if you have the s2, then you really ought to sort the mafam section first (i.e. do you need it at all) before you add in the power. Sounds like overfuelling.

Do you have 1) the Bosch MAF or 2) the Pierburg, and which Ron box? It makes a lot of difference to how you set things up.

worth saying there is no more tuning power in 7,8,9 than in 4,5,6 or 1,2,3!

Its just a greater amount of MAF compensation there, in three increasing layers.

Thanks for your posts. It is a S2 with a Bosch MAF. I will have to play around as you suggest until I find the right setting.

With the Bosch MAF first try it with the Mafam section turned off as these work without it.
If very poor the MAF may be degrading and either need replacing/cleaning or turning on and up the Mafam section of Synergy.
