Default Boot plinth clip advice

You know what I'm going to say...

Paul's boot plinth was loose one side. Someone had tried to stick the clip on, presumably for the same reason I tried to put a bit of sealant on before fitting a new one. I thought it would hold it in place while I applied pressure...

Yep, just lost two brand new clips into the inside the boot and still nothing holding the plinth that side. Rimmers charge more for postage than the clips, so before I order yet more, any advice how I actually fot one without losing it.

I used a magnet to get the one I dropped inside the skin
But I fitted a 6mm (iirc) nut to the outer 2 bolts. Works well
