If you've sold the car and the new owner has it in his possession write a letter to the dvla informing them you no longer own the car and if you have the new owners details include them in the letter. This will take any blame off your son if he does dump it on the road. Make sure to send the letter recorded and do it asap!

As for anything else tell him to take a run and jump and don't give him a penny! Private sale and was listed as spares or repairs so tell him to do one!

Agreed. Tell the DVLA who it was sold to and when, and then tell him to jog on. You have no case to answer and it sounds like he is a chancer anyway.

Just Received this from the buyer via an email. Not sure what in the text Spares Or Repairs he doesn't understand. I have not replied to this email yet. As I stated on there there were NO KNOWN FAULTS. I did state original radio CD though did not know the code was missing. I also stated there was no log book.

{{{{{ I am disappointed that since our last conversation I have not received the cheque for £85 as promised. I would add that I have messaged you on 11th February and tried to call you since, but have also had no response.

I am hoping that you will reconsider sending me a cheque or bank payment for £85, as the car has had several major issues that were not disclosed by yourself at the time of purchase. Given that you are also unwilling to help regarding the log book and that the original factory cd player that was advertised as an 'original' feature comes with no code and is also un-operational, I believe the £85 request is more than reasonable.

Should this not be forthcoming, I will look at recovering the additional costs of repairing the CD player, obtaining a replacement log book and replacing the gearbox through the small claims court.
I hope this can be settled as originally agreed, and look forward to hearing from you in due course.

Regards,}}}}}

Let him take you to the SCC, it will be thrown out and he will have to pay costs. I'd not even reply! Your ad is clear and concise.
If it's worrying you then have a word with the CAB, don't give him any money as it's an admission of guilt!

He's a chancer, don't give him a penny, or even dignify his threats, as this is exactly what they are, with an answer.

A chancer he most definitely is.

As already said, let him take you to SCC (although I think he's calling your bluff & it wouldn't get that far, or anywhere near it).

For your own piece of mind & again, as already said, have a chat with the CAB.
