Default And for love and a cuddle

I have changed my employee's clutch in his Renault Clio.

No instruction, no helpful forum how to, just getting stuck in and getting it done. It was going well at the 4 hours mark when I nearly had it all back together, but sadly when trying to put the subframe back on the young lad cross threaded both of the main bolts, which took the next 2 hours to put right.

But I did get that warm feeling inside when he realised that it would work and he no longer needed to scrap his beloved car.

Price of a clutch for a 1.2 1999 Clio £49.00 delivered from ebay.
What I was paid for doing it? Nothing.
Seeing his happy little face when I pulled it out of the garage? Priceless.

Have to agree there, seeing the pleasure in someone's face is absolutely priceless. Well done

I feel tired and worn out, and I know the ground in oil will have to be pumice stoned out of my skin. Not ideal at the end of the weekend just before a week of graft.

But I am pleased too.

I feel bad that I cannot give him any cash bonuses, while business has picked up, there is still no spare cash to give him a payrise or a bonus. He works like a trooper, I would never tell him obviously

It was the least I could do for him, he was gutted when the clutch started slipping, he even looked miserable.

Excellent. There can be no better man management than that. My first boss was like that. You always give a bit extra when the going is tight. Thats how it should be. Hat of to you Sir.
