Default Achieving flush fit (Mgr WinCe/ Sean's unit)

Hi all,

I'm having difficulty achieving flush fit;

1) The rear bracket is removed
2) Wires aren't getting in the way, I've had the heater control out and have pulled wires down simultaneously.

The problem appears to be the weight of the unit pushing itself forwards. It's almost as if the 2 top-screw-positions only act as a pivot for it in order to swing back'n'forth.

Picture 1 - My thumb is exerting some pressure to the unit, if the unit were to then stay in this position then I'd be happy and you wouldn't be reading this!

Picture 2 When the thumb pressure is taken off

Picture 3) This is the excess ''unit'', the picture was taken looking upwards from the heater control unit.

I'd be grateful for suggestions;

I've tried putting rubber bungs either side of the unit in an attempt to just 'grip' it in place but to no avail.

When I had mine I felt up through the hole where the heater control lives and bent the tabs at either side at the bottom of the unit outwards while pushing the unit flush.
This kept it in place for me.

Thank you both,

It appears to be resolved, I've taken inspiration from both of your posts and manipulating the metal fins into an 'L' shape appears to work.

What I did was got a thin pice of metal and bent it at both ends and run it from left to right and screwed it to the insides and the back of the unit rests on it, I have covered it with a pice of felt to stop rattles and it works a teat,

But did I mention that I took the centre console out and worked at it from the rear so I knew where the radio sat

Im also looking at this issue... when I pulled my single din unit out there was a right angle plastic bracket which I think supported the single din unit...I was wondering if I could put that back in for the h/u to rest on...?
