Default Asus Laptop for sale ***2 weeks old*** NOW SOLD

I've just posted about this on someone's thread, and then dawned on me you have this section for just such an item.

http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computi...12971-pdt.html

This was bought by our cleaner at work, she turned it on and decided she didn't like it, and Currys will not take it back.

There's also a Windows 8 for dummies book included.

It's boxed, with it's PSU.

£260.00

PM me if you are interested.

Why wouldn't PC World take it back?

Took the words out of my mouth.

There's nothing wrong with it, she 60+ years old and decided to get a laptop, didn't like Windows 8, so we're getting her and something else maybe a tablet...

Possibly, but when doing things like that I know it would need the drivers for some of the hardware. But is easier to (hopefully) just sell it.

Windows 8 is terrible, too much like a mobile phone operating system, its works ok on a touch screen but I dont think it works well with a mouse or mouse pad.

A Windows 7 disc (proper licensed one) could be bought but are about £70 new.

I dont mean this in a bad way but even £240 is too much for what is now classed as a second hand laptop that can be bought new & sealed for £279, even if it has only just been turned on once.

I don't agree that Windows 8 is terrible. It has improved startup and shutdown times for starters. It's just that the Metro interface is really designed to work with touch screen devices.

I do agree that the price is a little steep for something that's effectively second hand. You don't say what it was she didn't like. If I were her, I'd just install Classic Shell and to all intents and purposes it's almost exactly like Windows 7.

Windows 8 is an excellent O/S for touchscreen, I love my Windows phone, but on this Laptop it is *****.

"Second hand" is a very loose none descriptive title that doesn't mean anything.
The price is fair for a machine that other than an open box is in exatly the same condition as you would get it from a shop, with the book it cost £296, so there is a £40 saving.

It's irrelivant why she doesn't like it, bshe's an older lady that has never used a PC before in her life, and she doesn't like it, that's her perogative. So we are going to get her something else.

It's sold now via Facebook local group, for the amount she wanted.
