Well that's my mate gone home a happy bunny.

ZS180 clattering its socks off, put the the tester on, power valve not working, balance valve working but sluggish.

started on the power valve 4 dry joints on the limit switched, so desoldered, degreased, and stuck down with a blob of 5 minute araldite and resoldered.

balance valve removed, full of oil, and one of the limit switches joints going dry, so fully deoiled and degreased, switches removed 5 minute araldited and resoldered, motor relubed and reassembled.

the balance flap was sticking a bit when closed, I think the "frame" has distorted slightly ( are these balance flaps available separately ?? ).

the only difficult bit was getting the screw out of the balance valve adjacent to the brake servo- time to make a tool I think.

anyway the motor is now sweet as a nut, and very powerful with a smooth torque curve- He's gone home grinning ear to ear again.

2 hours from start to finish.

Well done.

I;ve now fixed about 9 of these and they all seem to fail on the switches.

Where there has been a lot of oil in the motors I've replaced the motors as it tends to make them burn out much quicker.

Switches and relays no real problem, motors a little harder, PCB's,..............dont ask, you will make Bigruss do this

I have found 90% of all power motors I do can be repaired quite easily, the balance ones suffer far more with ingress and as such pcb's fail as a result of drowning motors.....

Switches are about 70p from RS.

Motors are another story. I bought mine form the US.
