This thread is about to hit its third anniversary. Is it not time it was killed particular as petrol prices are now lower than when the thread was started and no (Labour) fuel tax escalator increases have been implemented and the government has dropped the very idea?

Well whilst the overall price of fuel has dropped in relative terms, the portion of tax and duties is still far to high

I still think as consumers where we have no choice we should still battle on

Default Conspiracy?

My 1968 1800 Land Crab with B series engine and three speed auto box produced same mpg as my 2.0 Rover 75 with 5 speed auto box and sophisticated electronic management. Progress, or maintaining status quo for tax revenue?
The problem for those of us who enjoy luxury motoring is, super-mini's, the less fuel they consume the greater the fuel tax, to keep the exchequer's income rising.
Remember the low price of diesel to switch us away from petrol and once done, diesel became dearer than petrol.

That's me signed up and Evan at today's prices it's not low enough no where near I would like to see it a pound a litre or lower
