This thread is about to hit its third anniversary. Is it not time it was killed particular as petrol prices are now lower than when the thread was started and no (Labour) fuel tax escalator increases have been implemented and the government has dropped the very idea?

Conspiracy?
My 1968 1800 Land Crab with B series engine and three speed auto box produced same mpg as my 2.0 Rover 75 with 5 speed auto box and sophisticated electronic management. Progress, or maintaining status quo for tax revenue?
The problem for those of us who enjoy luxury motoring is, super-mini's, the less fuel they consume the greater the fuel tax, to keep the exchequer's income rising. Remember the low price of diesel to switch us away from petrol and once done, diesel became dearer than petrol. |
