Default Statins

Excellent interview on Sky News where a Senior Cardiologist has just stated that prescribing Statins has been a “public health disaster”.

Short summary

They have been used for two to three decades now but has failed to curb the incidence of heart disease - in fact it is increasing.

He stated that low cholesterol, low fat foods now have higher levels of sugar and this has actually driven up heart disease rates.

Studies show that the actual “benefit” of Statins in real terms is a life span increase of just 4 days!!!! - and he states that a lot of the original research was pharmaceutical industry based where these minor improvements to live span were wrapped up in statistics to make out the results were far mor impressive than they really were.

A lot of patients stop taking them due to side effects.

He said the sides effects of statins have not been fully disclosed. Industry sponsored clinical trials make out that side effects are rare - but this Cardiologist is saying that in his experience the side effects are so bad that half the patients Rx’d statins stop taking them after two years due to side effects.

“The cholesterol theory itself is fatally flawed”

So - we now have leading health professionals calling for a parliamentary inquiry into the use of statins.

Interesting!!

I was put on statins for my high cholesterol, but was allergic to all, including the really expensive one that they prescribe as a last resort.
Started using Flora Proactiv and my cholesterol levels have been fine for the past three years

GPs like to prescribe them because they get paid for each patient on their books who uses them. Steer clear!

Most interesting. Been taking them for years with no ill effects but seems the only benefit will be an extra 4 days of life. Did it say that they are in effect of no benefit at all then or just to some people with certain conditions. Of course lifestyle has a big part to play as usual.

Had my cholesterol checked many years ago and it was sky high (12+). Already did loads of exercise (half marathons, gym 6 days a week etc), so made diet changes as recommended by my GP. Sadly, it made very little difference

My GP prescribed 40 mg Statins, and my cholesterol level dropped dramatically. Been taking them for over 20 yrs now, and so far, no side effects whatsoever. I guess it's the luck of the draw - for some they're a God send, for others, a nightmare .

I've got to the point that I only go to the doctors if I have to be carried there! I've had friends have the flu jab and get it worse than they ever have! The gave me anti depressants which made me worse and were awful to get off. After a cruciate ligament injury, the specialist offered me surgery with a 50/50 chance of success - I thanked him and declined the offer. It eventually got better on its own! With drug companies making mahoosive profits, I often wonder if many of the drugs are even necessary. It's as if folks always want to know "Is there a pill for that?" I used to deliver prescriptions and was always asked to "Take these back because I haven't used them!" In one month, I collected over 7 grands worth of unused drugs! "Everything in moderation" was my grannies motto and she reached a ripe old age! Good food and plenty of exercise is the best medicine.

Mr SUCROSE is your enemy here, not Mr Fat, the former has been responsible for the epidemic of obesity since it was introduced to Western diets, whilst a despicable trade in human beings was legitimised in order to produce it and to satisfy demand, and in the process entire economies were supported, well the party is over, and we all have to pay the price.
My advise is to take the statins if you have been advised to do so by a health professional, and stop eating Mr Sucrose.

The WHO has been steadily lowering what 'normal' levels are.

The initial surveys in the 70s showed that the norm was in the low teens.

Now your GP is likely to reccomend a statin if yours is around 5. Most GPs get paid if they prescribe a certain drug after becoming friendly with a drug company.

To justify getting people onto a statin they had to state that our cholesterol levels need to be lower.

More profit is the goal here.

In my view they want people sick, there is very little profit in good health. Statins are quite dangerous and I for one would never take them.

Also I also stick to animal fats. These margarines - no bacteria or microbe will go near it - what does that tell you? Also it makes your platelets sticky (the opposite to Aspirin) thereby INCREASING the risk of clot formation and resultant heart attack, DVT etc.

Cholesterol is a very important substance- it's used in the synthesis of all our hormones. Less cholesterol equals poorer health.

BTW Antidepressant side effect is suicidal ideation

Flu jabs are rubbish and contain many poisons such as mercury
