Unhappy Not a happy tale

Hi all,

Not been around for a while, the last six months have not been the best.

My mum died just before christmas after months of being shuttled between the care home we moved her to, when she was diagnosed with late term dimentia, and the hospital, she died of cancer which we were never told she had until she was moved to a hospice. I have never seen Rita, my other half and mums carer so upset.

On the car front, went to leave for work one morning and an expensive grinding noise and a definate list to port led me to discover a broken n/s
spring, when the RAC delivered it to the garage I was informed "Best do both sides guv... oh and your tyres had it" Deep joy.

Got a screw embedded in a rear tyre a few weeks later took it to get it repaired and was informed of my astonishing good luck to have a screw "Too close to the edge to repair, need a new tyre guv" while there I asked to have the other tyres checked, sitting in reception having a dispenser coffee
manager comes in and says the other tyres, o/s front and rear will need changing as they are cracking up in between the treads, when I had a look there were cracks all around them, seems I was ripped off with old stock when I had all four replaced about a year and half before, manager showed me the date stamp on them, 2000

Couple of weeks ago discovered a crack in the windscreen about half way up the near side, same place it went before, and has been gradually working its wonky way across since.

Came out yesterday morning, 3.30am, the dreaded click click and headlights flashing, scrubbed work and charged battery......oh wonderful still don't work.

Whats a good replacement battery or can you still get the original ??

Cam belts are over due for replacement, time wise not mileage

MoT, tax and insurance run out in August. Ho Hum.

On the bright side I am retiring in August so no more work
Oh and I won a tenner on the lottery

Thanks Kandy,

Glad to be back, think mum is better off now considering her age and illness, quality rather than quantity.

Any thoughts on the battery issue ??

Damn. Hope next year is a better one for you - can't get much worse can it.

As for the battery, I just went to one of the national chains & got one.

About two months ago I bought a genuine MG Rover battery [had a X part label] for £73 from my ex MG Rover garage to fit my diesel 75.

Works great..
