Well have started puttign stuff back in so it usable while the carpet and foam are drying out. trouble is I have found a connector and cannot find a home for it The plug is a small flat black one with three wires and pins. The wires are black and blue with a brown stripe and it's in a bundle under the console with the Gear selector and snow/sports switch .

Of course the Haynes book of lies does not show it nor mention it .

Anyone know what it is and where it goes please?

Hmm those pics remind me of my car after I bought it. Not as rusty as yours though.

Before you put anything back, make you you have definitely found the source of the leak - I went mad with multiple buckets of water, garden hose etc. I suggest you do the same to ensure you don't have to do it all over again.

You may have more than one leak!! I did, so don't assume that there is only one source of water ingress, there may be many!

The plug you describe sounds like the one that does ABS signal and remote interface for the Highline sat nav, although I could be wrong.

Too late he cried. Centre console is in, along witht eh fittings all except gear selector gator and knob.. My car has a Symphony system so no sat nav Hi-Line etc I'll plug it back in and see what's not working not ideal but it's all I can do. Seats next to go back in.

Hmm not sure about the plug then, it'll just be loose with nothing to plug into if you don't have Highline.

I put back my console and seats and left the carpet out for a few weeks to ensure it was fully dry and that I had sorted all the leaks. Not ideal but it was OK to drive around with it like that.

The rubber bungs holding the ducting down tend to pull through the ducting when wrestling the carpet about , as the end of the ducting sticks through a slot in the carpet

Ahhh yes I have no reconnected the seat adjusting wires as yet. Fiddliy little ******s those.

I took the ducting out as well to dry underneath it. Once I get the majority of the water out the stuff that drips out teh carpetign will come into the conservatory where it get nice an warm even this time of year if we get any sun to dry fully.

I was just gona say have you a conservatory or greenhouse. I did all mine in conservatory it dries in a few day compared to weeks elswhere if you can hang the carpet up that way all water drains to lower end fast then keep squesing the foam a few times a day, dont forget to mop up the puddles every time its amazing how much water the carpet holds
