Good afternoon Dawn and Julien, understood and thank you. I had a rethink and deleted the funeral photos etc, as some things are just too raw to write about and I don't always get it right, with some of the stuff I post up. The weather is much safer. Another hot afternoon at 31C

G'day all - been out and done the weekend shopping already today - made the most of the bright blue skies and wall to wall sunshine
Now off to the rubbish tip - we've got old wallpaper and wooden skirting boards all over the place, despite filling the wheelie bin up with them.
Time for a clearout

Good afternoon Rod, it looks as though you've had a full day already After visiting the tip, what's next?

That way it will be fresh in your mind. All the best Jeff for tomorrow. In South Africa, all we had to learn was the alphabet and the code of conduct before we got our radio licence. I add not marine.

Default Car insurance ..... again !

I know the subject has been thrashed to death on multitudinous posts over the years, but please - NEVER accept the renewal quote from your current insurers without checking first that it is competitive.

My renewal came through at lunchtime - £352.58 (sounds a lot, but includes £70 for breakdown cover - including towing the caravan home too!). Last year was £279.
Went on the Meerkat site & got a price of £287.97 - from the same Insurance Company I am currently with (LV=)
Rang them up - no problem, they checked that the two quotes were like for like - and did it for me at the Meerkat price of £287.72 - another 25p saving, but more importantly, a total saving of £64.86 over the renewal notice which came through my letterbox an hour ago.
As Ed China would say "job done"

A saving of £64.86 is your petrol money Rod, if you drive frugal for your next long haul trip out Congratulations
