Heard the same Tatts,
They will be taking action it seems as getting nowhere with the Government, who for some thick reason don't seem to realise it puts everything up by being overtaxed, they Win every way! They still expect everyone to absorb the increases, well that is no longer going to happen! The various Haulage associations will be making announcements soon. |

It's supposed to be illegal to blockade depots now, as soon as it was announced that a demo was in the pipeline, I instantly thought here we go again.....Lets get ready for the panic buying.

Heard an interview with one of the truckers leaders a couple of days ago. They are getting ready to protest probably in the form of rolling road blocks. That as yet has not been made illegal, whereas blockades are.

It might be illegal to Blockade but,
they could still just park their lorries up across all refineries, lock them up and go away on holiday for a week. Enough in line across would make it impossible to move! Police would be stuffed! Not that I am a militant or anything. |

Well at least these truckers can claim their VAT back more than us poor motorist but we need their support to fetch fuel prices down

I think that there are an awful lot of us who do not regard ourselves as militant who think it might be time for more direct action.

Using fuel duty and VAT on fuel duty to support other parts of the economy and services is just wrong.
Why does this government or any government not come clean and apply the requisite tax in a more appropriate manner. Income tax. Then we would all know exactly where we stand, rather than these myriad stealth taxes. Would it be a vote loser though, if we were presented with an 80% tax bill on our earnings? |
