Peter be careful A BM54 Back is no different to a BM24 except you will also need to buy an aerial adapter so don't pay a premium for one.
Tony forget meaningless part numbers it is simpler than that, if your TV tuner has the Display menu with 16:9 and 4:3 it will work otherwise it won't |

I have just recived my new 16:9 screen and it will only display 4:3, ok I'll have to invest in a new tuner.
One question though before I start hacking the display to fit: The picture is off to the left by about 4mm is there any way to adjust the position ??? Is there any way to adjust the colour, the colour is a bit washed out I've adjusted the brightness this didnt cure it, Tony Last edited by TonyH; 29th November 2007 at 14:42.. |

Colour on these things is not good especially on TV
I would not chop your screen up till you have tried a 16:9 tuner normally that cures positioning problems but worth waiting to be sure. There is another option seeing as analogue TV is soon to be obsolete get in touch with Kuftec, In BMWs the TV tuner is an option requiring an adapter cable so they may be able to provide a TV tuner bypass cable as well |

Hi Keith
Another thing has cropped up the montor wakes up when I un lock the car I take it's the K bus, is this normal for the BMW units. It also wakes up when I open the door after switching the ignition off, it does however go off again after a short while, Tony |

Yep thats is normal although it does not do it everytime! Hence why we get rid of the BMW splash screen on the BMQ Nav computer (Rover ones don't have a splash screen)

I haven't tried it myself, but if you're not that bothered about the TV function (and before long if it's not a digital tuner it won't be any use anyway) how about trying this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=250190258618 It looks like you just plug each end into the harness that normally goes to the TV tuner and it then just makes the nav computer take over to create the image - which (certainly in the case of BMW Mk3 drive) will adjust to 16:9. Pete |
