Default Console Switch Interchangeability

I am tired of accidentally switching on the hazard lights by bumping the switch between the seats and am looking at moving the hazard and central locking switches to the panel below the climate control.

I am wondering if the switch bodies size for the hazard and central locking switches is the same as those for the heated seats?

Extending the wiring for the switches wouldn't be an issue.
The panel I have now is blank but the heated seat switch panels are available on Ebay complete with switches. I would use the heated seat switches to fill the holes in the panel between the seats, and that would give me a project to do later as heated seats would be nice.

Fits into the oval blank nicely
Just get a 2 hole panel in whatever finish you have, and fit the switches.
Here's mine with the temp gauge

That was a silly place to put the hazard warning light switch, at least twice I've accidentally caught it getting out of the car and came home from work to find a flat battery, and because the hazards flashed when I locked the car and then walked away and didn't notice.

The plan is to put the heated seat buttons there. I dont have heated seats but it could be a project for later.

the heated seat switches are quite a chunky switch, I am not sure they would fit. Traction control and cruise would be better suited I would suggest. They also illuminate a warning light in the instrument binnacle to warn they are active, whereas heated seats (when active) illuminate within the switch, which wouldnt be noticeable. (of course that is if CC and TC are fitted, perhaps maybe rear blind?)

Just a thought?

There's the rub...I don't have cruise, traction control or a rear blind.
Heated seats are something I wouldn't mind installing in the future but if necessary I could fill in the holes in the domed panel between the seats if the switches won't fit.
Does anyone have a heated seat panel in the metallic grey (Rhodium?) finish with switches for sale that they wouldn't mind mailing to Canada?

I had assumed you had the panel already along with the options above, but you can cut the holes easily enough with a multi tool, file and drill.

Incidentally, it could be worth checking if the wiring for the seats are there. However, what might be worth considering is an aftermarket seat heating kit, and then fitting the switches into the centre console by the handbrake.
