Thermostat replacement
Hello guys, want to replace my thermostat unit plus housing since it's been forever stuck open. Any good how to's for a 2.0 v6? And also heard about some o ring sealers or something like that? Do I have to buy and replace those too? What should I look for and give attention to when doing this job? Thank you.

You need new o-rings to do the job.You should get these with the new housing kit, but also available from forum traders, eBay, Rimmer, etc. TC |

There are two ways of going about this and both have their supporters. The conventional method is to remove the acoustic cover, breathers, air box, throttle body, intake manifold chamber, Left-hand (front) inlet manifold along with injectors and fuel rail on that side.
The "keyhole" method involves leaving the manifold and fuel rail in place, disconnecting the hoses and accessing the thermostat assembly from the side. It saves time if everything goes as it should but can give you problems if things stick or go wrong. Visibility is also not as good. There are "How To" pages on here for both methods. Your new thermostat assembly should come complete with O-rings. Make sure these are lubricated before you attempt to fit it otherwise they can twist and leak.
