Before you ask yes I did name my youngest after the car manufacturer. I figured he would cost me as much as one so what the heck.

Thank goodness you didn't name him after your 75. Rover Williams. He wouldn't have thanked you for that!

7 CRD came up for sale the other week for £4K - I'd love that plate! I'd like something clever, but I'm just not creative enough! I saw an X5 with an AC Schnizer kit, blacked out windows and 22" chrome rims with the plate V1RUS and it really suited it.. Will probably end up with something where I have to be someone creative with screw placement!

I noticed EMA1L on a car near Crawley down a few years ago. I thought that was clever.

Owend mine now for 5+ years and have my eye on another one but only one car in the "fleet" I dont fancy the investment to leave on retention.

I like that!

I quite like a good Suffix plate, but it's getting hold of the right one.. It's not like the DVLA database that you can just search, I've never once found a place that has a good database of suffix plates..

If you have deep pockets, take a looksee at the dvla auctions. Some trick plates in there but can be pricey too.

I have a plate with 'N17' (November 17th) and my initials on it. It was bought for me as a birthday present and it has now been on three cars. Some years ago, I asked the DVLA about MGB78T to go on my 1978 MGB. It had never been issued but they wouldn't sell it direct, it had to go in one of their auctions and I believe it sold for about £650 plus premium.
